CV (html) - CV (pdf)

Harnessing energy, raw and eloquent, I create images that invigorate our connection to our natural world, our humanity, and our shared story.

My work always begins with a love for the magic of creation- the blank surface about to be transformed into a living thing or another world. This act has been with mankind forever and yet never ceases to be awe-inspiring. I always want my marks to be visible, to keep this sense of wonder present.

Growing up in the company of acupuncture with my doctor father, I'm amazed at the healing power of energy. The unseen though highly tangible flow of life that connects us to each other and all of nature. Through envisioning energy, surface, texture, and internal charge are interchangeable. Art is amazing in that the vibrancy of the piece I create can be experienced by a viewer. I've been told that my images give people "permission to breathe deeply."

The narrative thread through my work are the timeless themes of human condition. Those stories from personal experience, from shared experience, and from our shared past. I think of this expansively as 'mythology'. I believe strongly in our potential for greatness. It's only through true reflection, presence, and empathy that we'll get there.
