As an artist, each of my pieces is an attempt to explore the human condition in both a simple and complexly personal language. I imbue everything I draw with history, myth, and memory. My philosophy is like my line . . . both playful and weighty. I have a nostalgia for the innocence of childhood that has become mixed-up with the wear and tear of adulthood. This duality appears visually in my work as a balance between rendering and abstraction, fine detail and large brush strokes, order and chaos. The end result is an invented language, a metaphor . . . filled with kind-hearted beasts, searching kids, and boisterous demons. I live in New York City.
